Remarkable spring

It has been a remarkable spring so far: almost no rain, and mostly glorious sunshine. How long before we hear the phrase hose-pipe ban, I wonder.

The last few days, there has been a strong, surprisingly pleasant, easterly wind, which has forced the local swallows to hunt for flies in the lee of the drystone walls. I spent an hour this afternoon trying to photograph them. Here is my best shot:
